Shiny Ferroseed Pokemon GO (POGO) was just one of the numerous Pokemon featured in Niantic Labs' unique quarantine event, Incense Day, which took place last Sunday on Apr. 19.

During Incense Day, trainers had the opportunity to activate incense lures from the safety of their own homes to attract certain Pokemon. The type of these Pokemon would change every hour from 11-5 pm. In order, those types were Water, Fire, Grass, Psychic, Bug, and Ground.

There were three common Pokemon trainers could expect per type with one rare that may have a chance to spawn if they were lucky. For some, there was a special chance they could appear as shiny provided the player encountered them enough. The grass types had Oddish, Roselia, and Lileep--all with shiny chance. Ferroseed was their type-rare.

Could Ferroseed have been caught shiny?

Unfortunately, no. Ferroseed's shiny palette was not slated to appear during the Incense Day event. However, its sprites do appear in-game, so it's possible the player will encounter one eventually.

Ferroseed can be found in the wild on sunny and clear days, though its spawn rate tends to be low. It can be hatched from 10 km eggs and is often listed as a Tier 3 raid boss. It is part of the Unova region and was first brought into the game during the Unova Unveiling event on Sept. 16 of last year.

Ferroseed's shiny palette features a cerulean blue where it was once green. It evolves into Ferrothorn with the help of 50 candies.
