How to catch Shiny Magmar will become simple with this Pokemon's spot as a Community Day feature.

Niantic Labs took to its official Twitter profile yesterday, Oct. 27, to announce the two next Pokemon GO Community Day featured Pokemon: Magmar and Electabuzz. Trainers can expect to see Magmar in vast amounts on Nov. 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will, of course, be an accompanying special research line, unique tasks, and its pre-evolved form, Magby, will be hatching from 2 k.m. eggs.

Shiny Magmar Pokemon GO: How to Catch

Like any other shiny Pokemon, Magmar has a 1:450 chance of appearing as its shiny variant. Trainers won't know if their spawned Magmar or hatched Magby is shiny until they open the encounter. In other words, every Magmar encounter has a 0.22% chance of holding a shiny.

Fortunately, shiny Magmar is extraordinarily easy to tell apart from its normal color palette. This one is bright pink from the tips of its claws to the flames on its head. Even its fiery tail is pink—rather appropriate for October's Breast Cancer Awareness title.

Magmar has been in the game since its release on July 6, 2016. However, its shiny variant did not debut until March 22, 2018. It is one of the original 151 from the Kanto region with a PokeDex number of 126. Also known as the "Spitfire Pokemon," Magmar is best known for its fiery bursts creating heat waves so hot it can ignite grasslands and trees around it.

Magmar can be evolved from Magby using 25 candies. Magmar, itself, can then be further evolved into Magmortar using 100 candies and a Sinnoh stone.
