Shiny Seedot Pokémon GO will be available in May's Community Day. Here's everything you need to know to catch a Shiny Seedot.
Shiny Seedot Pokémon GO: How to Catch
Community Day May 2020 will feature the Acorn Pokémon Seedot. On May 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in your local time, you'll find more Seedot in the wild. You'll also see more Shiny Seedot.
Normally, Shiny Pokémon have a spawn rate of one in 450. During Community Day, that rate goes all the way up to one in 24. If you look for Seedot, you'll surely find a Shiny Seedot with some perseverence. Just keep encountering Seedots.
Shiny Pokémon don't appear on map as Shiny, so you'll have to actually engage Seedot before knowing if it's Shiny or not. A Shiny Seedot isn't too different looking than a normal one. It has a reddish brown color instead of a more muted brown, but you'll get a little sparkle when you encounter it that will tell you it's Shiny.
Any Seedot you evolve into Shiftry during the event or for up to two hours after the event concludes will learn the Community Day exclusive move Bullet Seed. On Shiftry, it's basically a Grass type-shifted version of Snarl, a move it already has. Still, it provides good build options.
As for Shiftry, it's a fairly flexible Grass and Dark Pokémon that performs well in Ultra League. It's similar to Vileplume, but is Dark instead of Poison. It can manage as a Dark attacker, but it's Grass moves are slightly better. Mixing Dark and Grass moves on Shiftry will let it cover a variety of threats, putting it above bulky Water and Ground types like Swampert. The Dark typing also lets it patrol Psychic and Ghost types.
