Remember to take all the AR photos you want of sleeping Snorlax during your encounter, Trainers! ? After you’ve caught it, Snorlax will return to its usual wakefulness, so take your photos while you can. pic.twitter.com/e4lnjpFgNc— Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) May 29, 2019
Snorlax Yawn Pokemon Go: Pokémon Invades Following Pokémon Press Conference
Sleeping Snorlaxes are available in much larger numbers than usual Wednesday to tie in with the announcement of the upcoming (and slightly mysterious) Pokémon Sleep. These Snorlaxes are special in a couple of ways. For one, they remain sleeping until they've been caught, making them exceedingly easy to collect. The Snorlaxes will also spawn with the move Yawn, which isn't typical of wild Snorlaxes.
These sleeping Snorlaxes will stick around until June 3, according to Pokémon Go developer Niantic. Unfortunately for shiny hunters, no players have yet reported shiny Snorlaxes, and Niantic hasn't made a statement as to their availability, indicating no bonus is in effect.
