Sources: Cloud9 Exploring Acquisition of ATK CS:GO Roster

Cloud9 is exploring the possible acquisition of the ATK Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, according to multiple sources close to the organization. This potential transfer has been discussed internally for weeks, and they have ramped up in recent days, according to sources.
DBLTAP reported last month the potential move of three Cloud9 players to the Gen.G Esports organization. Last week the move was made official when Cloud9 announced the departure of Timothy "autimatic" Ta, Damian "daps" Steele, and Kenneth "koosta" Suen. The move leaves Óscar “mixwell” Cañellas as the last permanent player left on the Cloud9 roster.
ATK achieved its best international result earlier this month with a 7-8th place finish at the Season 10 ESL Pro League Finals. During the tournament, they beat North and G2 Esports in best-of three matchups. Their only losses came at the hands of the tournament winner Mousesports, who beat ATK in both a best-of one and a best-of three.
Cloud9 has not been able to recapture any form of international success since winning the ELEAGUE Boston Major in 2018. Since that event, the lineup experienced numerous changes that left autimatic as the only member remaining prior to his transfer to Gen.G Esports. The previous lineup failed to qualify for the StarLadder Berlin Major, which was the first time the organization had failed to qualify since early 2017 when they missed the ELEAGUE Atlanta Major.
The current ATK lineup is as follows:
- Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
- Ian "motm" Hardy
- Josh "oSee" Ohm
- Ricky "floppy" Kemery
- Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
- Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (coach)
