Gen.G Esports is in discussions with members of the Cloud9 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team about a possible transfer, according to multiple sources close to the situation. Bulgarian rifler Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov is also in discussions with the organization.
Timothy "autimatic" Ta and Damian "daps" Steele are the only two Cloud9 players DBLTAP can confirm are part of the discussions as of now. If Gen.G could also come to an agreement with CR4ZY for SHiPZ, that would leave two remaining roster spots open. It is unclear at this time if Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, or Yassine "Subroza"' Taoufik are considerations for the potential new team, according to sources.
Since making drastic changes to their lineup in July, Cloud9 has struggled against international competition. Cloud9 finished last in its group of ESL Pro League Season 10, meaning the team is slated to play a relegation tournament in the coming weeks in order to retain a league spot. More recently, Cloud9 finished last at BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen.
SHiPZ joined CR4ZY only a month ago after spending nearly two years with Windigo. In his first event with the team last month, CR4ZY won DreamHack Open Rotterdam with playoff victories against AVANGAR and Heroic.
Gen.G is a multi-esport organization known most for its League of Legends team in the Korean LCK and for the Seoul Dynasty of Overwatch League. This would be the organization's first foray into CS:GO.
Gen.G declined comment. Cloud9 did not initially respond to request for comments.
