MAD Lions will make two changes to their CS:GO roster with the addition of Ismail "refrezh" Ali and Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, according to multiple sources close to the team. DBLTAP first reported interest in the duo early last week, and a transfer from x6tence is nearly completed, according to sources.

Paweł "innocent" Mocek and Asger "AcilioN" Larsen are expected to be replaced by refrezh and HooXi. As a result of the transfer, x6tence will now seek to replace the two with another pair of Danish players. It was only three months ago that x6tence purchased its roster from Copenhagen Flames.

MAD Lions have had a tough time lately replicating the success they found in winning Flashpoint Season 1. Their best performance since April was a playoff appearance at DreamHack Masters Spring Europe. In June, they failed to qualify for cs_summit 6 and last month they missed the playoffs of DreamHack Open Summer and ESL One: Cologne Europe.

Refrezh was considered one of the most promising talents from Denmark as early as 2018 following a stand-in performance with Cloud9. He joined OpTic Gaming as a member of their last CS:GO lineup towards the end of the year. During his time with the team, they won DreamHack Open Summer 2019. Ultimately, he wasn’t recruited by anyone following OpTic Gaming’s departure from CS:GO and landed in free agency.

"We do not comment on hypothetical or actual contract negotiations with any of our current or prospective players," a representative of MAD Lions said.
