Sprout announced the signing Friday of Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, confirming a December DBLTAP report about the acquisition.
"It is an exceeding pleasure for us to welcome the Czech #csgo prodigy (oskar)
in the Sprout family and add another extremely valuable player to our roster," the team wrote on Twitter.
Osklar will replace Florian "syrsoN" Rische, who has since joined BIG, on Sprout. DBLTAP first reported the potential move Dec. 21, and the move was formally announced a day after syrsoN was introduced as a member of BIG.
Oskar has been a free agent since mid-October after a six month period with HellRaisers. During his time with HellRaisers, the team finished 1-3 in the StarLadder Berlin Major Challengers Stage and struggled to qualify for large international events. Following the Major, the team announced he would go on the inactive list. He left HellRaisers a month later.
His time with HellRaisers was his first stint with an organization since playing for Mousesports for nearly two and a half years, beginning in 2016. With Mousesports, Oskar helped them win ESG Tour Mykonos 2017, StarLadder Season 4, V4 Future Sports Festival, and ESL One: New York 2018.
