Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is set to receive a March release date.
The upcoming Final Fantasy spinoff, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, is coming sooner than you think. As part of Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show 2021 presentation, the game has been scheduled for release on March 18, 2022.
Alongside the announcement, a brand new trailer for the game was revealed - with much less meme-inducing chaos. Additionally, a second demo for the game was announced and is available to play right now. The demo will be available until Oct. 11, with Square Enix planning on sending out a survey to participants in order to gain feedback.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is set to offer retelling of the original Final Fantasy, taking the series in a much darker fantasy direction. Co-developed by Square Enix and Team Ninja, the idea has been to create a more challenging Final Fantasy game and to take the game to a more mature level. The game features inputs from Square Enix veterans Tetsuya Nomura and Kazushige Nojima.
Similar to more recent Final Fantasy games, the combat is set to take place in real-time with players being able to switch between physical and magical attacks. The story follows Jack, a man consumed with desire to fight and destroy Chaos. On his journey, he will be accompanied by a group of companions as they make their way through the brutal world.
Stranger of Paradie: Final Fantasy Origin is set to release on March 18, 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PCs via the Epic Game Store.
