The Taiwan Safari Zone event in Pokemon GO kicks off this week in New Taipei City. Niantic Labs has announced plenty of Safari Zone events before, so it stands to reason that trainers are mostly used to the protocol that takes place. During Safari Zone events, in the specified city or area, unique Pokemon will appear for as long as the event takes place.
Are you looking to add a Heracross or Unown to your PokeDex? Here's all you need to know about the Taiwan Safari Zone.
Taiwan Safari Zone in Pokemon GO
From 10 a.m. on Oct. 3 until 10 a.m. on Oct. 6, trainers in Taiwan around New Taipei City can take part in the pop-up Safari Zone. So far, more than 10,000 people have shown up to add the rare spawns of grass, bug, and water-types to their team this morning alone.
Like all Safari Zones, players can expect a rapid influx of rare Pokemon including the region specific Heracross, Caterpie and Butterfree, Scyther, Marill and Azumarill, Unown "R", Combee, and Oddish—which has now been released in its shiny version.
The event will take place in New Taipei Metropolitan Park and will feature Pokemon Meet and Greets and a parade in the afternoon on each day the Safari Zone is active. The park, itself, will be open until 5 p.m. for all trainers.
