Team Liquid won ESL One Cologne and in turn, the Intel Grand Slam after defeating Team Vitality in a best-of-five series.
The North American team took out the resurgent French lineup 3-1. Team Liquid becomes the second team to win the Intel Grand Slam winning four straight events in a row. Team Liquid confirmed itself as the number one Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team in the world.

Team Liquid defeated MVP PK, Natus Vincere twice, NRG Esports, and Vitality en route to the championship. Albeit not a CS:GO Major, the team earned redemption by vanquishing its demons from the 2016 event. Additionally, Jake "Stewie2k" Yip fell to SK Gaming at the 2017 event.
Team Vitality put up a strong fight, pushing a team it had a 4-0 map record against going into the final. Notable victories at the event for the French include best-of-threes against ENCE and Astralis.
