Team Vitality will skip ESL One New York, multiple members of the team have confirmed on social media.

Vitality, considered to be the best French Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, recently lost to Team Liquid at ESL One Cologne in the final. The team was apparently not invited to ESL One New York despite its recent success, according to a tweet from Nathan "NBK" Schmitt.

NBK later put out a statement regarding the qualifier. "Won't be taking part in the ESL One NYC Qualifier, it would overbook our schedule for September as we got invited to tournaments and rest is much needed now in order to be back in shape for Chicago & the Global Challenge. Really sucks to miss this one again, it is how it is!"

Astralis, Team Liquid, ENCE and eUnited are set to compete at the fourth annual event. Three more invites remain up for grabs with a final spot determined by a European qualifier.

ESL One New York takes place Sept. 26-29 at the Barclays Center with eight teams a $200,000 prize pool.
