TFT Patch 12.1 Release Date Information

Teamfight Tactics Patch 12.1 is the first patch release in 2022. Patch 12.1 was released after players voiced their need for changes after the 11.24 and 11.24B patches.

Game Designers at Riot Games have been working on Patch 12.1 for a while before the holidays. Riot Game Designer Stephen 'Mortdog' Mortimer explained the process of launching this patch in the new year on his YouTube channel.
The patch was being worked on for four weeks and when the TFT team got back to work after the holidays on Jan. 3, they "had one day to lock in all the patch changes, get it done, get it in the game" on time for the release on Jan. 5.
TFT Patch 12.1 Release Date Information
Patch 12.1 is live from Jan. 5 and has changes to traits, Augments and champions. Players will see nerfs to some 5-cost champions like Kai'Sa, Tahm Kench and Galio, but there are some buffs to balance it out.
Caitlyn's ultimate is slightly more powerful, doing more damage and the Imperial trait was adjusted to become more appealable to players in-game.
In addition, players will see a nerf to the Guardian Angel and Morellonomicon items, an adjusted Malzahar and a change to other traits like Yordle, Syndicate, Innovator, Chemtech and Socialite.
