The Last of Us Part II trailers have been getting fans excited for one of the most anticipated sequels in video game history.

The Last of Us Part II is now only a few months away from its release date on May 29. As the sequel to the ever-popular The Last of Us of 2013, Part II already looks like it's ready to shoulder the mantle of the entire franchise. Every trailer released shows us more of the exciting gameplay and thrilling story to match its original title.

1. Teaser 1

This is the first trailer released for The Last of Us Part II, just three years after the initial title release. Ellie is back, and the world we once lived in is ready for us again. It's an impressive display of graphics with Ellie simply singing and strumming a guitar. She's completely covered in blood—clearly from the people she killed in the house. Our protagonist is out for blood... But why?

2. Teaser 2

This trailer debuted at Paris Game Week during a panel on Dec. 9, 2017. It features the real conflict between the human factions in the game, as well as a few interesting bits of the story. This plot shift makes a lot of sense from the larger perspective as, now that humans have mostly regrouped, what other conflict would they find besides each other?

3. E3 2018

This trailer debuted on Jun. 11, 2018, during the E3 convention. We get to see Ellie enjoying the important aspects of small town life. She shares an intimate kiss on the dance floor with another girl—implied to be a friend's ex-partner. We are then immediately thrown into danger as Ellie stabs the throat of an enemy man and has to take part in some stealth to observe what appears to be a hanging. This trailer features impressive, intuitive, fluid combat that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats.

4. Release Date Reveal Trailer

This trailer opens with a tender scene between Ellie and her partner right before their "normal" townie lives are completely changed. Something has happened to the two of them that sets Ellie on a path of revenge. This trailer displays some stunning graphics, combat, and lets us know exactly what we're fighting for. It released on Sept. 24, 2019 and ended with the release date.
