Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has six unique character classes that players can choose from at the start of the game, each appealing to different ideologies of base playstyles, strengths, skills and all. Later on in the game, players can also choose a secondary class, which opens up a world of possibilities for character builds.

With the highly-anticipated action RPG looter shooter set to release in the coming hours, here's a breakdown of the class system in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

In Wonderlands, players are invited to loot, shoot, slash and cast their way through a stand-alone adventure narrated by none other than the Borderlands series' "unpredictable and adorable badass" Tiny Tina.

In a setting brought to life by Tiny Tina, the spin-off features a unique medieval fantasy world — a first for the franchise — able to be picked up and played solo or co-op without any knowledge of the series.

What is similar to the Borderlands titles here, however, is that although each of the individual classes in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands are a breath of fresh air for the series, the premise is familiar, with each class having its own unique Skill Tree, Action Skills and Class Feat.

Primary/Starting Class Choice

Ultimately, players will need to start off by choosing which of the six classes will be their starting class. This primary class choice is the sole aspect of players' characters that they can't change later (though you can always reroll a new character), so think ahead to how you might want to Multiclass later. Once players have completed the main story campaign, they'll unlock the option to switch their secondary class, but their primary class is unchangeable forever.

Class Feats

Once unlocked, Class Feats are players' always-on passive effects such as unique increases to damage output or having a trusty, attack-ready companion.

Action Skills

Players' chosen classes' Action Skills have the biggest impact on their moment-to-moment gameplay, with splashy effects that can instantly turn the tide of a battle and give them the upper hand. Action Skills have a relatively short cooldown, letting players unleash their might multiple times during most fights, but not so short that they'll be spamming them constantly. You can only equip one Action Skill at a time.

Skill Tree

Finally, each class' skill tree is where players will get a comprehensive view of their progress over time. With each level gained, players will have a new Skill Point to spend in either one of their two trees. Be sure to pick and choose carefully where to allocate them, however, as it's impossible to fill up every ability across both of your skill trees. As players invest more points into a skill tree, they'll unlock more sections with stronger effects as they further commit to a given class. If you decide that you want to rearrange your skill points, you can do so in exchange for in-game gold at a Quick Change station.

Secondary Class Choice/Multiclass System

Once players hit level 13, they'll gain access to the Multiclass system and a new secondary class slot, opening up a world of unique character builds. The Multiclass system is the core of customizing your playstyle in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, letting you combine the power of two classes to become a hybridized hero.

Class Feats are equally powerful whether they belong to your primary or secondary class, with both having a huge impact on your playstyle and the stats/effects you should prioritize. If you opt for a Multiclass combination of two companion-spawning classes — Clawbringer, Graveborn or Spore Warden — both of your companions will always be fighting by your side. Players will also have a total of four Action Skills to choose from between their two Multiclass selections.

Classes

The six mythical classes in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands are:

  1. Brr-Zerker: tenacious Frost-infused bruisers who complement their firepower with an onslaught of brutal, up-close-and-personal melee attacks
  2. Clawbringer: faithful warriors who bring down thunder and flames upon their enemies with a spectral hammer alongside their fire-breathing Wyvern Companion
  3. Graveborn: Death-touched acolytes who sacrifice health to unleash devastating Dark Magic attacks and become the phantasmal Reaper of Bones, accompanied by their manic Demi-Lich companion
  4. Spellshot: gun-toting wizards who can unleash a constant barrage of spells and bullets and transform their enemies into harmless livestock with the snap of a finger
  5. Spore Warden: masters of nature who summon tornadoes and launch volleys of arcane arrows into enemy lines alongside their toxin-spewing Mushroom Companion
  6. Stabbomancer: sneaky, Critical-hit-focused assassins who summon magic whirling blades to the battlefield and disappear into the shadows at will

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is set to release for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) on March 25, 2022.
