Gearbox Software has issued special SHiFT codes for Tribes of Midgard ahead of the game's official launch later this Tuesday, July 27.

Fans of the studio may recognize the initiative from its flagship series, Borderlands. Essentially, the SHiFT system is an out-of-game mechanic based on promotion codes published from Gearbox, itself. Every so often, the developer will issue one or a small set of 25-character codes that can be redeemed in-game for rewards such as cosmetics, currency, and more.

Here's how to get them and what to do with them.

How to Redeem Tribes of Midgard Shift Codes

SHiFT codes come directly from Gearbox and are typically published via their official channels—e.g.: the verified Tribes of Midgard Twitter account. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, since the game hasn't yet launched, there are no codes active.

To redeem a SHiFT code when they begin to appear, users will need a SHiFT account. This can be made through the system's webpage with a valid e-mail address or by linking one of the following accounts:

  • Epic Games
  • Steam
  • PlayStation Network (PSN)
  • Xbox Live
  • Twitch
  • 2K Games
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Google

Users must be at least 18 years old to use the SHiFT system. Each code can only be redeemed once per SHiFT account. In addition to exclusive gear, SHiFT users can also participate in special beta-builds ahead of the general public and post on the associated forum boards.

Tribes of Midgard launches on Tuesday, July 27, for the PlayStation 4/5 and PC via Steam. More information about the game can be found on its website.
