A potential mistake regarding one of Ubisoft’s older blog posts may have revealed the release date of Rainbow Six Extraction.
Some eagle-eyed Rainbow Six fans have spotted a potentially mistaken update to one of Ubisoft’s older blog posts on its website. The post originally was meant to detail what players could expect when hopping into the game for the first time. Now, it has added an extra bit of highly-anticipated information.
Here’s what we know so far.
Rainbow Six Extraction Release Date Reveal?
The release date for Rainbow Six Extraction (R6E) is Jan. 20, 2022, according to an update made to the initial R6E blog post published in early June.
”Rainbow Six Extraction…made its gameplay debut during today’s Ubisoft Forward, giving a taste of what to expect when the game launches on January 20.” The post read.
Rainbow Six Extraction—previously known as R6: Quarantine—was meant to come out in September 2021. However, it was delayed to January without a concrete date—until now. It is still unclear whether or not this upload was completed intentionally or not.
R6E is a co-op game that pits a squad of players against the alien Archæans in a bid to protect their teammates as well as the rest of human civilization. Players venture deep into a containment zone to accomplish a variety of goals which may result in one squad member becoming Missing in Action (MIA). This sparks a separate mission where the remaining team must go on a rescue mission to find them before they’re eliminated by the Archæan threat.
Ubisoft has yet to release a statement regarding the release date reveal. Therefore, DBLTAP cannot fully confirm the veracity of the date.
R6E will be available for Xbox One/Series S|X, PlayStation 4/5, and PC via Stadia as well as the Ubisoft store.
