Vicar Max Outer Worlds: What We Know

Vicar Max of The Outer Worlds is one of the wide cast of characters players will get to interact with when the game finally releases Oct. 25. Because the game isn't yet available for the general gaming public, our knowledge of Vicar Max is fairly limited. Here's what we know so far.

Vicar Max Outer Worlds: What We Know

Vicar Max — real name Maximilliam DeSoto — is a human vicar in the Order of Scientific Inquiry. The Order is one of the two main religious groups in the Halcyon star system. It is the official religion of the corporations, and is positioned opposite Philosophism.

Players can encounter Vicar Max in Edgewater, a community in the Emerald Vale run by Spacer's Choice. Vicar Max was transferred to Edgewater, at least in part, to hunt down banned and heretical texts. The player can recruit him as a companion to help in future missions and combat.

Until The Outer Worlds is released, we won't know more about Vicar Max's past or future.
