A Call of Duty: Warzone player recently hilariously ran into one of those rare "pay-to-lose" moments in gaming.

Executions in Call of Duty: Warzone are the ultimate bad manners murder method. Performing one requires running up behind an enemy and getting close enough to touch them, then becoming stuck in an animation that feels interminable when the threat of third-party death is omnipresent.

While we have seen a Warzone player pull off an execution-only win in the past, it was only a matter of time before we saw someone's finishing move fail this unluckily, as shown in this clip on Reddit.

On Nov. 15, Reddit user u/DevvyREDDIT posted a thread titled, "I want my COD Points back."

In just 11 seconds, DevvyREDDIT clipped one of the most unfortunate things that could happen while finishing a downed player in Warzone history.

The clip starts off with business as usual, with DevvyREDDIT doing what most do on Rebirth Island — frantically gunning someone down with an OTs 9.

Soon enough, DevvyREDDIT decides that since they're already donning the Donnie Darko skin, they might as well go for Frank the Rabbit's "Sky is Falling" finisher.

Unfortunately, this where everything goes sideways.

Typically, the execution is simply supposed to call down a jet engine to fall out of nowhere and crush the enemy, just as in the film.

Instead, the animation stops midway and snaps DevvyREDDIT back into control for a quick second before they die due to falling into the ocean.

At the end of the day, it was worth going for it on a low-stakes game mode such as Resurgence Quads, and it seems DevvyREDDIT is taking the whole ordeal on the chin as they also included the "meme" tag on the post after all.

Additionally, this is definitely not the first time we've seen something like this happen.
