Many buffs and nerfs arrived in the July 7 update for Call of Duty: Warzone. One of the most notable nerfs that rocked the CoD community was the NZ-41, which prior to the update was one of the most overpowered weapons in Warzone for some time.

Raven Software has attempted to nerf the NZ-41 multiple times throughout its reign, however, the gun had remained one of the strongest options. After the latest attempt, however, Warzone expert WhosImmortal has revealed that the NZ-41 "wasn't really nerfed," and is still just as good as ever.

According to the July 7 patch notes, the NZ-41 received a 20% reduction in recoil recovery. In a July 11 video, WhosImmortal shared Sym.gg stats revealing that the nerf is no where near as extreme as first thought. Sym.gg found that the recoil recovery of the NZ-41 has actually only been reduced by 2.78% instead of the advertised 20% by Raven.

“That NZ recoil recovery really isn’t going to feel any different than ‘pre-nerf,’ because it wasn’t really nerfed,” WhosImmortal explained. “Also, recoil recovery is not a major factor in most weapons, especially the NZ. Even if the nerf was correct at 20% — nerfing 20% of nothing is still nothing.”

WhosImmortal does agree that the NZ needs a nerf, at least a boost in its recoil, in order to make it less overpowered. However, it seems that Raven Software still have work to do in truly nerfing this weapon in Warzone.
