Weather Boosted Rayquaza Pokemon GO is a sight to behold.

As we approach the end of Niantic Labs' first Ultra Unlock event, Dragon Week, players are beginning to notice their five-star tier raid boss, Rayquaza, has been appearing more and more with the added weather-boost bonus. This is likely due to the incoming tropical storm Isaias on the east coast. Fortunately, weather-boost is a conditional effect.

Here's what you can expect against a weather-boosted Rayquaza.

Weather-boosted Rayquaza, like other weather-boosted Pokemon, will hit harder and have a temporarily stronger CP in battle under its favorable weather conditions. For Rayquaza, this condition is "windy."

Currently, in five-star raids, trainers can expect to face Rayquaza at just under 50000. Its boosted moves will hit nearly twice as hard and run the possibility of wiping your chosen Pokemon with a single hit if their defense stat is low. After the fight, weather-boosted Rayquaza will be able to be caught with 2627–2739 CP instead of its usual 2102–2191CP range.

This doesn't mean that any different style of counter should be employed against Rayquaza. Ice-types should still be your main focus. However, if you'd like to front tankier Pokemon such as Walrein, Mamoswine, or Regice, no one would fault you.
