In the very first match of WWE 2K22's Showcase, you control Rey Mysterio in the historic 1997 Halloween Havoc Title vs. Mask match against Eddie Guerrero. There are various objectives to complete during this match, from specific light attacks to diving attacks, ultimately leading to you trying to win the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.

However, there is the chance that you can lose this match with how strong Eddie Guerrero is in WWE 2K22. So, what happens if Eddie Guerrero beats Rey Mysterio in WWE 2K22 Showcase?

If you unfortunately are defeated by Eddie Guerrero in the first WWE 2K22 Showcase match, you are prompted to a little Easter Egg, showing the consequences of Guerrero winning that match back in 1997.

If Guerrero pins you and you can't kick out, the match is over, and a new cutscene is prompted. In it, Eddie Guerrero is the one celebrating a win, and Rey Mysterio is the one laying in defeat. Eddie motions to the crowd that it is time, and he brings Mysterio to his knees, and rips the famous mask off of your face.

You don't see Mysterio's face in the cutscene, but you do get to see Eddie Guerrero bragging to the camera, flexing his prize, Mysterio's mask, to the camera. You can always play the match again to successfully unlock rewards; including Eddie Guerrero from 1997, Mysterio's Halloween Havoc purple attire, the WCW Cruiserweight Championship and 1997 WCW Halloween Havoc area.
