What is post control in NBA 2K22 is something many players are wondering about as they look to create their best big man build for MyCareer.

For those wondering how important this stat is for scoring down on the block, here's a breakdown of what the Post Control attribute does in NBA 2K22 on Current Gen and Next Gen.

What is Post Control in NBA 2K22?

As officially described in-game, Post Control is a Finishing attribute that helps determine success when performing spins, drives, drop steps and other moves from the post position. Additionally, in conjunction with a MyPlayer's strength and size, Post Control determines one's ability to back down a defender.

As far as attribute requirements go for those on Next Gen, having a decent Post Control rating affects a build's ability to get the Backdown Punisher, Dream Shake, Dropstepper and Post Spin Technician Finishing Badges.

In NBA 2K22, those who have played online games — whether in the park, Rec, Ante-Up or The Old Gym, etc. — know that inside scoring for bigs is really easy this year. Especially when combined with the Post Shot Daggers and Post Scorer Takeovers, hook shots can literally be unstoppable.

Therefore, although Post Control doesn't help post hook and post fadeaway attempts like Close Shot and Mid-Range Shot do, it's still a necessity for any interior scoring big man build in MyCareer.

Ultimately, however, we wouldn't recommend for players to put too much attribute points into it over 85, since at that point, you already have all the finishing badges tied to it on Hall of Fame.
