What role should Akshan play in League of Legends?
The newest champion in League of Legends thrilled players all across the community, with what looks to be an insane ability kit for players to explore. While he seems to be best suited for a mid lane role, there's some deliberation between hardcore fans about what role Akshan is best for, whether it's mid lane like his abilities suggest, or if there may be somewhere else on the map that Akshan is destined for.
What Role Should Akshan Play?
Many people believe that Akshan is suited to be a mid laner, with developers even saying as much. In a blog post detailing more about Akshan, Jeevan Sidhu, lead game designer for League of Legends, said that, “We’ve been watching marksmen go mid in pro and regular play for a while, but none of them feel like they belong there...we wanted to craft an experience that would feel like a distinct assassin style, but also clearly feel like a marksman... and put those two worlds together in mid lane.” With a marksman assassin like Akshan, mid lane seems like the obvious pick.
But what if mid lane is too obvious? Some players suggested that Akshan, with his damage-focused kit, he might be better suited in the bottom lane, as an AD carry. Abilities like Avengerang (Q) let Akshan dish out some pain, and his Comeuppance (R) seems like it could be a serious threat if used correctly.
Akshan might end up being a champion that can pull off mid lane and AD carry, but players will have to wait for Patch 11.15 to see. At the very least, players are more than eager to play as Akshan as soon as they possibly can.
