Star Wars fans are wondering when they can expect the re-release of Knights of the Old Republic on the Nintendo Switch.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (SW: KOTOR or, simply, KOTOR) is one of the more popular video games in the widely acclaimed franchise. Alongside the well-known MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic (SW:TOR), KOTOR explores the story before the fall of Anakin Skywalker and the rise of Darth Vader.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Switch Release Date
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will release on the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 11, 2021.
Its story focuses on the events after Order 66–the elimination of the Jedi Order. This took place during the Clone Wars and was ultimately handed down by then-Chancellor Palpatine after a failed attempt to bring him to justice. Palpatine used the incident to claim the Jedi were traitors to the Republic and justify the order.
The player is the last hope for the Jedi Order in this time line. KOTOR is a “deep” immersive RPG that sets players in the pilot’s seat with over 40 different abilities, the ability to weild their own lightsaber, and complete creative control over their ship, the Ebon Hawk.
They’ll also be able to explore the galaxy and visit iconic worlds such as Tatooine and the Wookie home-planet, Kashyyyk. Obviously, species from those planets will be available as friends, allies, and crewmates aboard the Hawk.
“Can you master the awesome power of the Force and save the Republic? Or will you fall to the lure of the dark side?” Its listing on the official Nintendo website reads.
