When is Ghostwire: Tokyo coming to Xbox?

With the highly-anticipated action-adventure game set to release as a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5 and PC in the coming days, here's a breakdown of if and when Ghostwire: Tokyo could be coming to Xbox.

Will Ghostwire: Tokyo Ever Come to Xbox?

As touched on earlier, Ghostwire: Tokyo, is set to release as a one-year timed exclusive for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on March 25, 2022.

As such, it can be assumed that at the earliest, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be coming to Xbox consoles on on March 25, 2023 — a year after its PS5 release.

Ghostwire: Tokyo was initially revealed during Bethesda Softworks' press conference at E3 2019 as an all-new action-adventure game with horror elements.

Then, in September 2020, Microsoft's $7.5 billion deal to acquire Bethesda Softworks' parent company, ZeniMax Media, and its studios including Ghostwire: Tokyo developer Tango Gameworks was announced.

As a result, the question quickly began to prop up whether or not the deal would affect Bethesda's Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop statuses of being PlayStation 5 exclusives.

Within the same day, however, it was soon revealed that Microsoft's planned buyout of Bethesda would not affect the deals and that Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo will still be timed PlayStation 5 exclusives.

It was also clarified by Xbox head Phil Spencer that future Bethesda titles will release for Xbox and PC, and will be available via Xbox Game Pass, as well as that releases for other consoles will be considered on an individual basis.
