Electronic Arts have announced the date for its next EA Play Live event.
The publisher made the announcement via their official Twitter profile in the afternoon of Tuesday, May 11. In it, several eagle-eyed fans noticed something interesting regarding the imagery of their "save the date" graphic: the return of EA's old logo featuring a series of indiscriminate shapes.
While some were a bit disappointed by its simplicity, others were quick to point out its roots and what this visual return to form could mean for the massive company. Perhaps they're planning on resurrecting a long-gone, beloved franchise?
When is the Next EA Play Live Event?
EA Play will take place on July 22. A time has not yet been announced—however, we can safely assume it would be in the late afternoon or early evening if the company decides to follow suit with its competitors. After all, the point is to attract the most eyeballs, isn't it?
Fans were quick to begin speculation on exactly which games could be unveiled during the event. Among the most popular theories were Star Wars: Battlefront 3, Battlefield 6, Skate 4, Dragon Age, and—surprisingly—The Sims 5.
With Battlefield set to release more information in the month prior, June 2021, it certainly isn't implausible that EA could use EA Play to build additional hype around the highly-anticipated franchise.
For better or worse, however, it looks like fans will just have to wait and see what's in store.
