When will Hyper Scape shut down?

On Jan. 27, Ubisoft announced that they will indeed be shutting down their free-to-play, first-person shooter battle royale title. Here's the breakdown on when Hyper Scape's servers are set to go offline for good.

When Will Hyper Scape Shut Down?

Hyper Scape will be shut down on April 28, 2022.

"We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28th," Ubisoft said in a blog post on Jan. 27. "We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.

"To the Hyper Scape community, thank you for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game. Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished."

A disappointing, yet not surprising move, Hyper Scape garnered its fans pretty rapidly upon its initial PC release on July 12, 2020, before dropping on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Aug. 11 later that same year.

The title breathed a fair bit of fresh air into the battle royale space, most notably with its emphasis on vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced combat, as well as for its integration with Twitch streamers which allowed viewers to affect the outcome of a match.
