When will the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter be revealed?

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has an enormous cast of playable characters. In fact, every character from every previous Super Smash Bros game was included in Ultimate's cast at launch. However, since then there have been additional characters released that raised the cast's total to 81 playable characters. The next fighter released will be the last addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Many of the characters added to the game are from studios other than Nintendo, a practice that could be tricky to continue in any possible future titles in the series. The most recent addition to the game was Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series.

When Will the Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter be Revealed?

In September's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed that the last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter will be announced on Oct. 5. There will be a special Nintendo Direct featuring the series' creator Masahiro Sakurai, who will be detailing the final character's kit and available moves. This will also be the last Nintendo Direct concerning Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
