Some trainers want to know where they can find Rotom in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Rotom, the "Plasma" Pokemon, is best known for its unique ability to possess household appliances. It begins as an electric and ghost-type when first caught, but can be tasked with taking the appearance of a variety of tools and electrical appliances to alter its secondary type. It is mischevious by nature and likes to play pranks on others—though, recently, in the television series, it seems to have the desire to be helpful to Ash and his team. Its PokeDex number is #479.

Where to Find Rotom in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

First, trainers will have needed to beat the entire Sinnoh League, including Champion Cynthia, and obtain the National Dex by seeing all Pokemon native to the Sinnoh region. This will allow them to see and catch Rotom.

Rotom can be found in an abandoned cottage in the northernmost part of Eterna Forest known as the "Old Chateau." HM Cut is required to access the building as small trees have cropped up near its entrance. Fortunately, this is all that's required, as the door is unlocked. Rotom can be encountered by walking up to the second floor and interacting with an old, broken-down television set.

A distinct Secret Key can also be found in this same room which trainers will need to pick up in order to change its forms.

In Pokemon Platinum, trainers needed to get a hold of the Secret Key through an event. In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, however, as remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl, no such event is necessary.

Once caught, Rotom can then been brought to the Team Galactic HQ in Eterna City to change its forms. Trainers will find a locked room in the basement that can now be opened with the key found in the Old Chateau. Inside is an assortment of appliances that can be used to change Rotom's form.

• Grass-type: Mow Rotom (Lawnmower)
• Ice-type: Frost Rotom (Refrigerator)
