Who voices the F1 Manager 2022 drivers?
Leading up to the release of F1 Manager 2022, one of the features that has been generating a lot of buzz has been the game's team radio messages. Players will hear in-game team radio messages — swears included — from drivers and engineers as they issue commands to their team during a race weekend or as drivers react to significant moments.
As such, it's perhaps no surprise that many are wondering just who are providing the voice lines for these drivers. Here's a breakdown of who voices the drivers in F1 Manager 2022.
Who Voices the F1 Manager 2022 Drivers?
In F1 Manager 2022, the voices for the drivers being used are indeed the voices of all 20 drivers participating directly in the Formula 1 season of 2022. This holds true for radio from the game's race engineers as well.
The game's real-world team radio message system is said to consist of over 50,000 files — something developer Frontier Developments feels is "ripe for further development on future titles."
"When it comes to our game," F1 Manager 2022 senior dialogue designer Robbie Mann said in a dev blog, "we wanted the player to feel like they were communicating with their drivers and to have some sort of tangible feedback when issuing driver commands or reacting to events throughout the race. As a dialogue team, we’re incredibly excited to help provide a truly unique experience and perspective of running an F1 team, and we’re even more excited to continue developing and growing these aspects of our game."
For those also wondering, the professional commentator voices heard in-game were provided by Sky Sports F1 commentators David Croft and Karun Chandhok.
F1 Manager 2022 is set to release for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on Aug. 30, 2022. Those who pre-order the game digitally will have early access to the game starting on Aug. 25.
