Will Allied Races be unlocked in Shadowlands? The latest World of Warcraft expansion brings overhauls to many of the game's systems, making the game more accessible than ever. Allied Races will be easier to unlock in Shadowlands.

Will Allied Races be Unlocked in Shadowlands?

Allied Races were introduced in the last expansion, Battle for Azeroth. They're races with unique customization options, and could only be obtained by completing story quests and reaching Exalted within the race's associated faction.

The Shadowlands pre-patch has removed the Exalted requirement to unlock Allied Races, letting you get them by just completing their story quest achievements.

  • Void Elf- You Are Now Prepared!
  • Lightforged Draenei- You Are Now Prepared!
  • Nightborned- Insurrection
  • Highmountain Tauren- Ain't No Mountain High Enough
  • Dark Iron Dwarf- Ready for War
  • Mag'har Orc- Ready for War
  • Zandalari Troll- Zandalar Forever! and Tides of Vengeance
  • Kul Tiran- A Nation United and Tides of Ven
  • Mechagon- The Mechagonian Threat
  • Vulpera- Secrets in the Sand

There are also new customization options for Allied Races. Most races got some new options, but Dark Iron Dwarfs only get the universal bald option.

The Shadowlands update to Allied Races won't give new characters the Exalted bonuses, so if you worked hard for the Allied Races before you'll still have things like unlocked Mounts.
