Will Chocobo GP be a Nintendo Switch exclusive?

After initially being revealed during the Nintendo Direct show on Sept. 23, Square Enix's upcoming Final Fantasy spin on the kart racer genre is set to drop soon. For those wondering when they can finally ready up for some races in the game for themselves, here's the latest information on what platforms Chocobo GP will be releasing on.

Will Chocobo GP Be a Nintendo Switch Exclusive?

Chocobo GP is set to release sometime in 2022 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

From Vivi to Shiroma, dozens of familiar characters from the iconic Final Fantasy RPG series will be joining Chocobo in this upcoming kart racer.

Those who are fans of the Mario Kart series will likely be able to pick up on the flow of Chocobo GP within no time.

In the Final Fantasy kart racer, players will still be able to pull off common strategies from similar existing titles, such as drift boosting and using attacks to throw off competitors.

However, instead of disheartening opposing drivers with red shells, players in Chocobo GP will be able to equip Magicites from the Final Fantasy universe such as Fire, Fira, or Firaga as they drift through various familiar courses in online and offline multiplayer modes.

Although up to eight players will be allowed to participate per race, up to 64 players are said to be also be able to join in on an in-game 8x8 elimination tournament mode.
