Will Overwatch 2 be cross-platform? Overwatch is a successful franchise with many different types of heroes to choose from and set yourself into. All of them have likable and quirky personalities that make a player indulge themselves not just in the game but into outside lore. With all of this going for it, you would suspect it would get a sequel and it did, Overwatch 2 was announced back in 2019 but will it be cross-platform?

Will Overwatch 2 be Cross-Platform?

As of now, it states in Blizzard's support that "PC and console versions of Blizzard Games are separate and do not share progress, nor allow for play on other platforms. PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation players all play in separate ecosystems." So the same will most likely take place for Overwatch 2 and many players worried if their progress would be affected by this. Blizzard has stated players will be able to take their collectibles and loot with them into the next game and will not lose their progress.

There is hope though as Jeff Kaplan has said “We really like the idea of cross-persistence,” and “It’s something we would love to see for Overwatch… we are very passionate about trying to make something like this happen someday.”
