We’ve put together a comprehensive round-up of all of the game announcements made during Summer Game Fest (SGF) 2022.

Summer Game Fest 2022 is set to take place this weekend, featuring its flagship kickoff show filled with world premieres, followed by a slate of events presented by game developers and platforms. Here are all the major reveals from Summer Game Fest 2022 so far.

Thursday, June 9

Summer Game Fest (2 p.m. ET)

Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the Summer Game Fest showcase event will begin at 2 p.m. ET with announcements, reveals and more. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 First Campaign Demo, The Callisto Protocol First Game Demo, Gotham Knights reveal and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson are said to be making appearances during the show.

Street Fighter 6 Guile Character, Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Capcom released its first look at Street Fighter 6 gameplay, in which it featured and confirmed Guile as a part of the game's playable roster.

Aliens: Dark Descent Announced, Coming 2023

From Focus Entertainment, Aliens: Dark Descent, a brand-new top-down shooter, was revealed to be coming to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023.

The Callisto Protocol Extended Gameplay Trailer Revealed

From Striking Distance and Krafton, The Callisto Protocol's First Game Demo was revealed as promised, giving a glimpse of the thriller, action gameplay. Striking Distance Studios CEO Glen Schofield joined Keighley for an on-stage interview.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Campaign Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Johanna Faires, GM of Call of Duty, ushered in the world-premiere of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's Dark Water campaign mission gameplay walkthrough trailer. Faires and Infinity Ward cinematics lead Jeff Negus joined Keighley for an on-stage interview.

Flashback 2 Announced, Coming Winter 2022

After initially being announced over a year ago, the new first-look trailer revealed that Flashback 2 is coming Winter 2022.

Witchfire Gameplay Trailer Revealed, Coming to Early Access Soon

First announced back in 2017, the in-depth look also revealed that Witchfire is entering Early Access soon. It is currently only announced for PC and is set to appear on the Epic Games store.

Fort Solis Announced for PC

From newly-founded European indie studio Fallen Leaf, and featuring performances from Troy Baker (The Last of Us) and Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Fort Solis is set to be a thriller, action game set in space with an emphasis on narrative. The game is set to launch on PC (via Steam).

Routine Announced, Coming to Xbox, PC and Xbox Game Pass

Over a decade after it was announced, a first-look trailer at Routine was finally given. The game is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will feature music by Mick Gordon. It will also be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass. Routine is a first-person game set in an abandoned Lunar base, designed around an ’80s vision of the future.

Black Adam World Premiere Trailer Highlighted by The Rock

As promised, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson joined Keighley for a brief interview to thank Epic Games for allowing him to play The Foundation in Fortnite, as well as promote the upcoming Black Adam movie from DC.

Outriders Worldslayer Co-Op Trailer Revealed

The Outriders Worldslayer expansion will release on June 30 for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam, Epic, Windows Store and Nvidia GeForce Now) and Stadia.

Fall Guys Season 1: Free For All Trailer Revealed

Fall Guys: Free For All, the first season in the game's free-to-play era, is set to launch for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Epic Games Store) on June 21.

Stormgate Announced, Beta Coming 2023

From Frost Giant Studios, a team composed of many former Blizzard developers who worked on games like StarCraft 3, Stormgate was announced as a brand-new RTS franchise. Frost Giant Studios CEO and production director Tim Morten joined Keighley for an on-stage interview.

Highwater Announced, Coming 2022

From Demagog Studio and Rogue Games, Highwater is a brand-new adventure strategy game set in a world ravaged by climate change.

American Arcadia Announced, Coming Soon to PC and Console

From Out of the Blue and Raw Fury, American Arcadia is coming soon to PC and console. Initially teased earlier in the year, the game takes place in a retro-futuristic metropolis where the citizens have no idea they're actually contestants on the most watched reality show on the planet. One half of the action unfolds as a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer while the other is a fully 3D first-person game.

Goat Simulator 3 Announced, Coming Fall 2022

A new, 4-player co-op adventure, Goat Simulator 3 is coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC (via Epic Games Store) in Fall 2022.

Marvel's Midnight Suns Release Date Set for Oct. 7, 2022

Nightingale Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Nightingale, a shared world survival crafting game, had a new gameplay trailer revealed, showcasing mechanics like crafting Realm Cards and exploring the mysterious Fae Realms. In addition, players will take on the role of a Realmwalker, where you can travel alone or play in co-op mode.

Saints Row Boss Factory Demo Trailer Revealed, Available Now

The Saints Row Boss Factory demo was revealed and released for free for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Epic Games Store). The characters created in Boss Factory can be used in Saints Row once it’s out, but you can show them off before then. Each character will have a unique code to identify them, allowing players to share the look they designed — even across platforms.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is an upcoming first-person action game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, being developed and published by Swedish video game studio Fatshark. It is planned to be released exclusively for Windows PC )via Steam and Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S on Sept. 13.

Layers of Fears Announced, Coming Early 2023

From Bloober Team, a new trailer for Layers Of Fears revealed that the horror game is coming Early 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).

Gotham Knights Nightwing Gameplay Trailer Revealed

As initially first announced in 2020, Gotham Knights is publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer WB Games Montréal's upcoming open-world, third-person action RPG featuring a world where Batman is dead. Complete with unique combat and traversal abilities, the crime-stopping has been left to Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and Red Hood. Gotham Knights is set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on Oct. 25.

Gotham Knights is publisher Warner Bros. Gamesand developer WB Games Montréal's upcoming open-world, third-person action RPG featuring Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and Red Hood in a world where Batman is dead. Gotham Knights is set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on Oct. 25.

Factions 2 Announced

Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann joined Keighley on stage to reveal that Factions 2 is now a standalone multiplayer game with its own story and cast of characters. More information is said to be coming in 2023.

The Last of Us TV Show Update

Druckmann also appeared on the Summer Game Fest broadcast to tell fans shooting on the Last of Us television adaptation would wrap Friday, and hinted the series would premiere next year.

The Last of Us Part I Remake Announced for PS5 and PC

A remake for The Last of Us Part I was revealed with a new trailer. The game is set to launch for PS5 on Sept. 2. A PC version is also in development. They are using the original performances but enhancing them with more details. There is a brand-new AI system, 60 FPS performance target and new combat.

Day of Devs: SGF Edition (Immediately after SGF)

Right after the Summer Game Fest livestream, the Day of Devs: SGF Edition show will go live. From iam8bit and Double Fine Productions, Day of Devs is said to be spotlighting some of the most exciting upcoming indie games.

Here are the games that were highlighted during the show:

Overall, the Day of Devs show delivered a much more laidback pace as compared to the adrenaline-filled SGF kickoff event that preceded it. A ton of intriguing indie games were spotlighted with developer-led gameplay trailers showing off a ton of diverse art styles and gameplay genres. From the chaotic Escape Academy to the borderline therapeutic Naiad, these new game trailers are all definitely worth checking out for any indie game fans.

Devolver Digital Marketing Countdown to Marketing (6 p.m. ET)

From American video game publisher Devolver Digital, the Devolver Digital Marketing Countdown to Marketing is said to be bringing with it new game reveals and news about Massive Monster's upcoming action roguelike, Cult of the Lamb.

Here are the games that were highlighted during the show:

Kicking off with a hilarious skit to introduce its unconventional host, Mecha Suda51, the Devolver Digital Marketing Countdown to Marketing show featured four upcoming games as creative and unhinged as its publisher. Cult of the Lamb's release date was revealed for Aug. 11. The Plucky Squire made its debut and immediately caught eyes thanks to its unique art direction blending 2D and 3D. For those who also wanted to skate through the underworld as a demon made of "glass and pain," Skate Story is right up your alley. Ultimately, all of these trailers are worth checking out for any fans of the publisher. However, the skits themselves also deserve a standing applause just based on how absurd they were.

Friday, June 10

Netflix Geeked Week: Gaming (1 p.m. ET)

Hosted by Geoff Keighley and Mari Takahashi, Netflix's Geeked Week: Gaming event will feature new looks at Sonic Prime, Tekken: Bloodline, The Cuphead Show! and DOTA: Dragon's Blood, as well as new Netflix games like Lucky Luna.

Here are the Netflix shows based on games and Netflix games that were highlighted during the show:

Ultimately, all of these shows and games appear to be promising as Netflix is seemingly working directly with each of the developers of the various iconic franchises to ensure that the adaptations do right by the fans. Netflix Games were highlighted, which is a library of mobile games that are updated and included as part of members' subscriptions inside the app. Over 50 mobile games are said to be coming to the streaming service by the end of the year.

A world-exclusive trailer for Dragon Age: Absolution got the party started, highlighting the new standalone, animated show perhaps perfect for those waiting for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Promoted by Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada himself, Tekken: Bloodline is a new anime based on the fighting game series. Based on the beloved show, Shadow and Bone: Destinies is a mobile, narrative RPG by Chimera Entertainment. Too Hot to Handle is a mobile dating sim based on the show. La Casa De Papel is a mobile heist game with a standalone story based on the show's universe. From Ripstone, The Queen's Gambit Chess game was revealed to be coming soon, complete with online and offline play. The next batch of The Cuphead Show! episodes will drop on Aug. 19. Lucky Luna, a mobile, adventure vertical pixel-art platformer game, is coming Summer 2022. Also highlighted in Day of the Devs, Desta: The Memories Between is said to be a character-driven rogue-like also coming to Netflix, featuring an immersive story, strategic turn-based tactics and a metaphorical ball-game. Three Devolver Digital games coming to Netflix were highlighted: Reigns: Three Kingdoms, Terra Nil and Poinpy (available now). DOTA: Dragon's Blood Season 3, based on the Valve MOBA, is coming to Netflix on Aug. 11. Wild Things is coming soon later this month, inviting players to help cute beasts restore their wild lands. Coming later this year, Sonic Prime is a new animated series based on the iconic franchise where the fate of the multiverse is on the line. Some more mobile games coming to Netflix as well later this year are Raji: An Ancient Epic and Spiritfarer. Castlevania: Nocturne, a new Castlevania series following Richter Belmont during the French Revolution, was revealed to be in production.

The Epic Games Store Summer Showcase (2 p.m. ET)

Epic Games Store will be joining the Summer Game Fest calendar of events with its own show to highlight some announcements, brand-new trailers and more for PC games coming to the EGS this year and beyond.

Here are the games that were highlighted during the show:

A lot of trailers were shown back to back, bringing some buzz over to new developments from Epic Games and its partners.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria was announced to be coming Spring 2023. A gameplay trailer for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed was revealed. The PC Building Simulator 2 beta is now live. The Sifu Summer Update is coming this August. Splitgate is coming to the Epic Games Store in Q3 2022.

Tribeca Games Spotlight (3 p.m. ET)

The Tribeca Games Spotlight is said to be featuring exclusive gameplay and creator interviews from Tribeca's official selections.

From Outerloop Games, a studio started five years ago with the idea of making games about underrepresented cultures and themes, Thirsty Suitors is a queer brown and Black immigrant RPG about resolving relationships by fighting your exes, cooking with your family and skateboarding, all wrapped up in a joyful celebration of culture story. From Demagog Studio is The Cub, an adventure, platformer game that shares the world ravaged by climate change seen in Golf Club Wasteland and Highwater. From INT./NIGHT, a woman-led game studio, As Dusk Falls features a unique visual style achieved by rotoscoping, an animation technique that involves tracing live-action footage by hand.

Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase (1 p.m. ET)

The Xbox and Bethesda Showcase will be taking a look at what's next for Xbox and its studios, featuring information on games currently in the works from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda and their partners.
