Pokemon Legends Z-A: How to find the Shiny Mareep

Much like its predecessor, Pokémon Legends: Z-A has a side quest that teaches the player about shiny Pokémon, and as part of that, gives you a free shiny you can catch and add to your team. In this game, it’s a shiny Mareep, which means you can eventually get yourself a free Shiny Mega Ampharos on your team, which is a pretty cool addition.
However, you don’t get told exactly where to find it straight away, so we’ll show you where to look to reach the spot this elusive Pokémon is hiding.
How to find the Shiny Mareep – Legends ZA
You’ll receive this quest just outside of Wild Zone 1, so head in through the nearest entrance and then turn right. At the end of the small field, you’ll see a gap in the fence covered by some rocks. Use any fighting-type move to smash through the rocks and head through. Then climb the ladder up to the rooftops and turn right, where you’ll find the Mareep waiting.
Get close enough, and the cutscene will trigger. The person who gave you the quest will be happy that they’ve seen it, and then you’ll be free to catch it. Like the Shiny Ponyta from Legends: Arceus, this shiny is impossible to fail and will continuously respawn until you catch it.
