Every new Pokémon confirmed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A
By Ryan Woodrow

As Pokémon Legends: Z-A draws near, we’re getting more and more cool reveals for what secrets are in store for this game. Pokémon Legends: Arceus gave us a bunch of new regional forms, along with the surprise of new Origin forms for Dialga and Palkia, and even a surprise new legendary in Enamorus.
While Nintendo will no doubt be keeping some reveals close to its chest, it has revealed several new Mega Evolutions that will be available in this game, so we’ve gathered all of those together in one easy place for you and will keep it updated as more are revealed.
Eternal Flower Floette
Eternal Flower Floette may as well be a mythical Pokémon at this point; it certainly feels that way to fans, as despite some hints at plans, this unique Floette form was never distributed, and trainers have never had the chance to get it themselves. However, we already know that AZ and Floette are central characters to the story in Z-A, so the hope is there that this will finally be the time we get to add this unique Pokémon to our team.
Mega Dragonite
Our first new Mega Evolution to get revealed, Mega Dragonite perhaps wasn’t the best way to kick off the reveals, as it looks a little goofy with the giant white wings coming out of its head. Still, looking a little goofy has always been part of Dragonite’s charm, and the extra little gem on its tail from its pre-evolutions is quite a nice touch. The biggest curiosity in this one is what its Mega Stone will be called: Dragoniteite?
Mega Victreebel
Speaking of goofy, here’s a big fat poison-spitting plant that I can’t help but love as it blobs along like a slightly deflated yoga ball. It takes Victreebel’s sack of poison design to its logical conclusion, growing much bigger and tying a length of vine around its…well, it’s not a neck, but you know what I mean, to stop all of the acid inside from spewing everywhere.
Mega Hawlucha
For its big re-debut, Mega Hawlucha has packed on some extra bulk and gotten itself a very special attire. Hawlucha continues to borrow from pro-wrestling and lucha libre for its designs, replacing its normal red and green mask with a gold one with white material covering its eyes, making it seem even more flamboyant yet mysterious as it unleashes its high-flying offense.
Mega Malamar
It’s even more hypnotic now, and that can’t be good. It took over all of Pokémon’s social media channels for a week as it seemed to make everyone fall in love with it, just in case it wasn’t already creepy enough of a Pokémon. It’s also got a lot thinner, though all of that mass seems to have gone to its head, quite literally, as its brain is now bigger than ever. The rainbow glow is pretty though…
Mega Chesnaught
Nice to see that Z-A is righting another wrong, and finally giving the Kalos starters the Mega Evolutions they should’ve had in X & Y. Mega Chesnaught looks even more tanky than ever, with massive shield-like pauldrons on its back as it hunches over, its red fur draping down and making it look like a knight’s cape in this cool new design that massively improves on the original design.
Mega Delphox
Delphox also looks way cooler in its Mega form, leaning all the way into its witch aesthetic, with its little fire-twig magic wand becoming a broomstick for it to ride on, bringing some darker colours into its red and orange aesthetic to look better than ever. Hopefully, this should please fans of Fennekin and Braixen who were disappointed at how its final evolution turned out.
Mega Greninja
Given that Greninja was once voted the most popular Pokémon of all time, you’d think Nintendo would’ve…tried a little harder when it came to giving it a Mega Evolution, but nope, it’s just…upside down now. While the colours have changed, with the black and light blue looking quite nice, it doesn’t feel like Greninja’s design has actually changed all that much in its Mega form, even if it does hang below a massive water shuriken now.
Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y
With the surprise reveal of Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s DLC in the Nintendo Direct, we got not one, but two new Mega forms for Raichu, letting it join Charizard and Mewtwo in the exclusive club of Pokémon with multiple Mega forms. These forms try to give Raichu the appearance of the letters they’re named after, with Raichu X’s twin tails and ears forming an X shape, and Raichu Y’s new lightning-bolt antlers making a striking Y shape.
