If you’ve started playing Death Stranding 2: On The Beach and you’re already stuck at the first major choice, then we’ve got a surprise for you: your choice doesn’t actually matter. Fragile finds Sam’s hidden shelter in Mexico, where he’s started making a life for himself and Lou, and now she wants to drag him back into the dangerous world of delivery driving.

Refusing Fragile’s request actually takes you all the way back to the start of the cutscene, but as you go to feed Lou, the camera zooms in on a photograph on the board behind Sam, revealing that it is from the scene where Fragile asks the question.

Here you’ll be given yet another two options, either “I’ll accept the order.” or “I won’t do it.”

Selecting “I won’t do it.” yet again will once again take you back to the start of the cutscene, and the camera will attempt to zoom in on a different photograph on the board, before Sam screams “No, no!” and the camera flicks back to the scene with Fragile and Sam.

This time, you won’t be given the option to refuse the order. After all, the game must continue.
