Once you finish Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, you’ll learn the true meaning of Drawbridge. The Q-pid connects the continent of Australia to the Beach, reducing the number of BTs in the area. But you can optionally deactivate the Q-pid, allowing the number of BTs to increase, and even their danger level.

You can turn the Q-pid on and off as often as you want, and more importantly, it is actually required for some sub-orders, if you’ve finished the game before attempting them. Most importantly, you’ll need this for The Ghost Hunter if you’ve finished the game before completing the Chiral Network.

Read on for everything you need to turn the Q-pid on and off in Death Stranding 2.

As usual, Kojima is being a bit weird here, but we won’t question it too much. In order to turn the Q-pid on and off, you need to go into the System settings. Yes, past the ring menu, and straight through to where you would usually perform a manual save.

In the System settings you’ll see the “Switch the Drawbridge Q-pid On/Off” option, and this is exactly where you need to be.

You will need to switch the Q-pid off for The Ghost Hunter missions manually, but you might also switch it off if you’re interested in hunting BTs. Capturing and summoning BTs is a great optional adventure.

When On, you’ll rarely encounter Ghost Mechs and BTs, making deliveries much easier to perform. When Off, Ghost Mechs and BTs are more common, but if you’re seeking a fight that’s exactly what you will want.
