Elden Ring Nightreign: How to unlock Duchess

Despite being available by default in the Elden Ring: Nightreign beta test, Duchess is not one of the base roster of six characters that you’re able to immediately pick up and play in the full game. Duchess is still in the game, of course, but if you want to play as her, with her expert-level Intelligence and Dexterity stats, then you’ll need to unlock her first.

Luckily, unlocking Duchess is pretty easy, and we’re breaking down everything you need to unlock Duchess in Elden Ring: Nightreign as soon as possible. Make sure to also unlock Revenant as a playable character.

How to unlock Duchess – Nightreign

In order to unlock Duchess as a playable character in Elden Ring: Nightreign, you must complete an expedition once. The only expedition available to you until you overcome it will be the Tricephalos Expedition, which will see you fighting against the Nightlord Gladius, Beast of Night.

This isn’t a simple expedition despite being the very first you must complete, but upon first completion you’ll earn the Old Pocketwatch. Take this to the Priestess in Roundtable Hold, and she will reveal herself to be Duchess, and she will become a playable character along with the other Nightfarers.

Duchess is fast and has great dodging capability, but her best stats are actually Dexterity, Intelligence, and Faith, with plenty of FP and a bit of Arcane, making her able to use a variety of weapons. For more tips on how to build and play Duchess, check our full Duchess character guide.
