Play your enemies a melody to die for with the best Honkai: Star Rail Hysilens build. This follower of The Nihility deals Physical DMG and specializes in inflicting DoT effects.

Hysilens’ Skill, Overtone Hum: Chorus After Dark Tides, deals Physical DMG based on her ATK to all enemies and has a chance of inflicting a debuff on them, which increases all their incoming DMG for three turns.

Her Ultimate, Maelstrom Rhapsody, deals Physical DMG based on Hysilens’ ATK to all enemies and deploys a Zone for three turns that reduces their ATK and DEF. Whenever an enemy in the Zone takes an instance of DoT, Hysilens deals Physical DoT based on her ATK to that enemy. She can do this up to eight times at the start of each turn or after an attack executed by an ally.

One of her Traces also allows her to recover a Skill Point for the team when deploying a Zone, while another causes all active DoTs on her Ultimate’s targets to immediately deal damage.

Hysilens’ Talent, Sirenic Serenade, gives her a chance to inflict a random DoT effect on a target attacked by an ally. She gives priority to inflicting a DoT effect that isn’t present on the target yet. When enemies suffer from Burn, Shock, or Wind Shear at the start of their turn, they take extra DoT based on Hysilens’ ATK for two turns. When enemies suffer from Bleed at the start of their turn, they take extra Physical DoT based on their own Max HP and Hysilens’ ATK.

Obtaining duplicates of Hysilens allows you to increase her Eidolon Level, unlocking additional capabilities:

Hysilens mainly desires ATK and Effect Hit Rate. Her signature Light Cone, Why Does the Ocean Sing, delivers a generous portion of the latter in addition to granting the wearer the chance to inflict the Enthrallment debuff on targets. Enemies suffering from this effect take additional DoT for every debuff applied to them by the wearer, stacking up to six times. The debuffed targets also temporarily grant extra SPD to allies attacking them.

Effect Hit Rate is a priority for two reasons: Hysilens requires it to increase the chance of her debuffs actually hitting and one of her Traces converts every 10% Effect Hit Rate above 60% into a 15% DMG boost, stacking up to 90% — so your minimum target Effect Hit Rate is 120%. ATK and SPD are your other two big concerns to bolster her damage output.

Energy is not a major issue for Hysilens, since her Zone sticks around for three turns — that’s plenty of time to regenerate enough Energy for the next one. Defensive stats such as HP, DEF, and Effect RES are great fillers, as they’ll enhance Hysilens’ sustainability on the battlefield.

Best Relic Sets for Hysilens in HSR:

  • Prisoner in Deep Confinement (4) – +12% ATK, wearer’s attacks will ignore 6% of enemy’s DEF for every DoT the target is suffering from, counting up to three DoTs.

Kokomi, is that you? / HoYoverse

Hysilens is set to become a pillar of the DoT playstyle thanks to her own substantial DoT infliction and the damage boosts she provides to her allies.

  • Kafka (Main DPS), Hysilens (Sub DPS), Black Swan (Sub DPS), Huohuo (Support)

Kafka’s buffs in HSR 3.4 have made her an even stronger DoT DPS, so she’s perfect to take up the Main DPS role in DoT compositions, inflicting damaging effects on her turn as well as out of it thanks to her Follow-Up Attacks. Black Swan remains an incredibly potent DoT Sub DPS, who only grows stronger with someone like Hysilens on the team. Huohuo is an excellent Support for this group, as her ATK buff and Energy Regeneration capabilities provide super useful benefits.

If you don’t want to play a triple DoT line-up, slot in Ruan Mei for Black Swan for that elongated Weakness Break.

  • Credits x308,000

Fear-Stomped Flesh is one of the base materials you can easily farm through the Daily Assignments to your characters, making for a steady income of the material.

Invasive Clot is dropped by the Stagnant Shadow (Styxia, Dragonbone City) on Amphoreus or gained through exchange. The best source of Credits are the Bud of Treasures Golden Calyxes found across the cosmos.

Hysilens requires the following materials to upgrade her combat abilities and Traces:

  • Credits x3,000,000
  • Fear-Stomped Flesh x41
  • Courage-Torn Chest x56
  • Glory-Aspersed Torso x58
  • Fiery Spirit x18
  • Starfire Essence x69

Daythunder Anamnesis is a boss material only gained from the Echo of War (Eye of Twilight, Fortress of Dome) domain, while Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during time-limited events, the Embers Exchange, the Nameless Honor, or as a Simulated Universe Points Reward.
