9 Kings clears 250,000 sales one week into Early Access

Sad Socket’s roguelite auto-battler 9 Kings has surpassed 250,000 sales one week after its Early Access release, publisher Hooded Horse announced.
Although exact numbers are hard to come by, this makes 9 Kings one of the strongest ever launches of a PC game developed in Brazil — a signal success for the country and its rising video games industry.
According to SteamDB, 9 Kings peaked at close to 14,000 concurrent users on Steam on June 1, 2025, and is very highly rated by players on the platform. Setting a new CCU record a week into Early Access is a positive sign for the game as well, indicating that word of mouth helps its growth.
“The 11-year-old kids who were making games for fun in a small Brazilian city could’ve never imagined they’d be building something this big one day,” commented Sad Socket co-founder Rafael Melo. “The good news is it’s only gotten more fun. We hope we can help the Brazilian industry grow, and that many bigger games come after 9 Kings.”
