DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be supported with seasonal updates post launch that add content such as new weapons, maps, and modes to the game. Speaking to GNN at Hong Kong’s reveal event for the game, the developers stated that there will be quarterly patches.

In regards to any classic Battlefield maps that might be ported to BF6, the developers want to decide based on community requests to ensure that popular picks make it in. The developers have adopted a similar sentiment when it comes to BF6’s time-to-kill (TTK).

Although the team put a lot of effort and research into finding a comfortable spot for everyone, the game’s continued evolution and player feedback might make it necessary to adjust TTK, which the studio is ready to do.

AI-controlled players – commonly referred to as bots – will be used to populate servers, in case there are not enough human players to fill every slot, DICE confirmed. However, the developers stressed that they always aim to have as many human players as possible playing together at the same time.

Battlefield 6 will open its doors to the public for the first time this week with its open beta start.
