Nintendo Direct coming this week focusing on Donkey Kong Bananza

Nintendo has just announced that a Nintendo Direct is set to take place this week, covering all the latest news on the company’s next big Switch 2 game: Donkey Kong Bananza.
The Donkey Kong Bananza Direct will take place on June 18, 2025 at 6:00am PT, or 9:00am ET. Here’s what that means for your time zone:
- PDT – 6:00am
- EDT – 9:00am
- BRT – 10:00am
- BST – 2:00pm
- CEST – 3:00pm
- IST – 6:30pm
- CST – 9:00pm
- JST – 10:00pm
- AEST – 11:00pm
- NZST – 1:00am (June 19)
The announcement came via the Nintendo Today app, which the company has been using to announce small bits and pieces here and there since it launched earlier this year, notably the release date for the live-action Zelda movie and the upcoming Splatoon Raiders. This is the first time a Nintendo Direct has been announced via the app, though, and at the time of writing it has not been shown on Twitter or any other social media feeds.
Nintendo has not revealed how long the presentation will last, but we can expect the runtime to be somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes, if past game-specific Direct presentations are anything to go by. There’s undoubtedly plenty to cover, since news on Donkey Kong Bananza has been relatively light, and we’ve seen little more than a bit of early gameplay.
Donkey Kong Bananza is set to be released next month, on July 17, 2025, almost exactly one month after its Direct presentation. It is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
