Epic is finally back from its summer break, which means it's time for the second major update of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, and it’s time for yet more superheroes to join the fray. However, despite Superman leading the way this season, it’ll be Marvel superheroes joining the game in this update. On top of that comes a bunch of original skin designs ready to drop, a new POI for the Fortnite map, and one very surprising collaboration on the horizon.

We’ll cover everything that’s new in our full Fortnite patch notes for update v36.20.

Fantastic Four collaboration

With their new film on the horizon, three of the Fantastic Four will be coming to Fortnite with skins for Reed Richards, Susan Storm, and Johnny Storm, all confirmed for the collaboration. This has immediately raised questions about Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, and while it would be surprising if he weren’t in this collaboration, the encrypted files make no mention of him. Either way, these skins will be dropping before the next update, like around the same time as the film’s premiere on July 25.

Fortress of Solitude POI

Superman’s not letting the Fantastic Four steal his spotlight though, as you’re finally going to be able to find him on the Fortnite map when the Fortress of Solitude is added to the map in this update. This will come at the same time as a bunch of unique Superman quests will be added, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get a bunch of XP and the many Superman-themed rewards that come with the Battle Pass Secret Skin this season.

Deadmau5 skin

At this point, it shouldn’t be surprising to see just about any pop culture figure appear in Fortnite, because in the files for this update, an encrypted skin of what appears to be music star Deadmau5 has been added to the game. It feels a little like this has come out of nowhere, especially as we’re a long way off a new Fortnite Festival season, but it’s nice to know that music stars won’t always just be tied to that game mode going forward.

New original skins

As always, a whole host of original skins are dropping with this update, and some of these are pretty weird. We’ve got ourselves a slime girl made of Slurp, a man with metallic silver skin (unfortunately not the Silver Surfer), and the strangest of all, a humanoid being made entirely of black wires, with a game controller for a head.

New Lego Fortnite Odyssey encounters

Some of the enemies from Lego Fortnite Expeditions are now going to be appearing in Odyssey too. Now the Spires have been activated, you can expect to find Daigo’s minions out in the world, giving you trouble as you try to maintain your peaceful existence and build up your villages.
