Genshin Impact 5.7 patch notes confirm Paimon and Keqing VA recast
By Marco Wutz

Kayli Mills is no longer the VA for Keqing and Corina Boettger is out as Paimon’s VA in Genshin Impact, the latest patch notes for the game confirm. Mills and Boettger had their respective roles since Version 1.0 of the open-world RPG, though Keqing didn’t have a lot of appearances since the main storyline moved on from Liyue. Paimon is the character with the most voiced dialog in the title by far.
“After Version 5.7 is updated, Keqing and Paimon's English VAs will be updated (this change only applies to new content in Version 5.7, historical content will be gradually updated in subsequent versions),” the patch notes stated.
Keqing’s most recent voice lines, which were added during Version 5.3 earlier in 2025, remained unvoiced in the English dub as Mills participated in the recently ended SAG-AFTRA strike. She’s been a vocal supporter of the strike throughout its duration and involved herself in controversial debates around it online. Boettger continued to play Paimon during the strike, but recently said she quit the role amidst further controversy.
The new VAs for Keqing and Paimon haven’t been identified in the patch notes, which conforms to recent practice by HoYoverse. The studio is keeping the names of replacement VAs secret in order to protect them from the same toxicity that was hurled at Kinich VA Jacob Takanashi after he took up the role.
Keqing and Paimon join a whole host of HoYoverse characters who had to be recast due to the strike, such as Koleda, Grace, and Rina in ZZZ and the Trailblazer in HSR.
Although the strike has officially ended with SAG-AFTRA and video game companies signing an agreement that satisfies both sides, the long-term consequences of the strike are yet to play out, so further recasts in HoYoverse’s games are not off the table.
Earlier, the VAs for Aether and Lumine confirmed their return to Genshin Impact, though not in time for them to voice the characters in Version 5.7.
