HSR’s latest Myriad Celestia trailer has dropped lore on the real bad guys of the story
By Marco Wutz

HoYoverse promised a big Myriad Celestia trailer for Honkai: Star Rail earlier this year and the five-minute video released today certainly lived up to the hype by dropping lore on the primary enemy of the game — The Destruction. Specifically, the trailer introduced the Lord Ravagers, who are the Emanators of Nanook and advance the Aeon’s plans throughout the cosmos.
In the trailer, we hear four Lord Ravagers speaking: Phantylia, who’s already familiar to us from her schemes on the Xianzhou Luofu, Celenova, Asat Pramad, and Zephyro. In addition, we see a couple figures who might also be Lord Ravagers, though they do not speak.
In essence, the trailer shows what’s currently happening in the cosmos while the Astral Express is dealing with Amphoreus and at the same time connects the events on Amphoreus with what’s going on outside by showing the potential future that could transpire if the Trailblazer fails to get the situation on Amphoreus under control.
What’s currently happening is this: Jingliu is being interrogated by the Xianzhou and confirms the existence of a weapon that can slay Aeons. Feixiao is about to clash with Celenova’s fleet, but the Lord Ravagers retreats, leaving Feixiao wondering if that’s a trap or if Celenova has a more important mission to fulfill all of a sudden. Meanwhile, Acheron, too, seems to be on the hunt for a Lord Ravager.
The scenes of familiar places like Herta Space Station, Jarilo-VI, the Luofu, and Penacony being destroyed do not appear to be real — they are the potential future, a vision of what might befall them if the Black Tide is allowed to consume Amphoreus and escape it.
As The Herta and Screwllum revealed in HSR 3.3, Amphoreus is home to an Emperor’s Scepter and this device, in turn, gave birth to a Lord Ravager. We can assume that this is Irontomb, the Lord Ravager specialized to deal with technology and inorganic life, and that Irontomb manifests in the form of the Black Tide, which can be seen consuming the worlds we know in their possible futures.
Basically, the Lord Ravagers are hoping Irontomb will escape its prison – Amphoreus – and then cause galaxy-wide destruction as well as destroy Nous, the Aeon of Erudition, as a way to begin a large war among the Aeons. The Genius Society seems to be on the immediate hit list as well. The Lord Ravagers have gathered to watch the outcome of the events on Amphoreus together.
While the events on Amphoreus have seemed to be largely isolated from the grander story, we now see that this couldn’t be further from the truth — it is of utmost importance that Irontomb be contained and everyone we know will die if we fail. No pressure.
Aside from that, the trailer appears to imply that each Lord Ravager seems destined to take down a certain Aeon. We already know that Phantylia is trying to destroy The Hunt and that Irontomb’s target is The Erudition. Zephyro seems to go up against The Nihility – hence the inquiries Acheron is making about them – and Celenova’s puzzle imagery implies that she’s targeting The Harmony. The massive sun-destroying robot (called Forgelord in a Chinese lore post) seems to be a match for The Preservation, while the black hole-esque being (called Lumifade in the same source) is fighting The Voracity and The Permanence (a duo that's curious in itself). Asat Pramad, the guy with a die for a head, talked about worlds no longer laughing, connecting them to The Elation.
So, the stakes are very high for HSR 3.4, which is set to arrive on July 2, 2025.
