HSR 3.4 release date, events, and features revealed

HoYoverse has lifted the curtain and unveiled Honkai: Star Rail 3.4, the next update for the turn-based space RPG. HSR 3.4 is set to deliver the climax of the first half of the year-long Amphoreus story arc, bring the long-awaited collaboration with Fate UBW, and improve the abilities of several older characters with buffs.

Players can expect to get collaboration character Archer for free during HSR 3.4, but the new update also brings fresh Planar Ornaments as well as some quality-of-life improvements that should make the experience better for players who prefer action to story.

HSR 3.4 is set to be released on July 2, 2025, for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android.

HSR 3.4 story and characters

Amphoreus’ first half concludes with the Trailblaze Mission “For the Sun is Set to Die” — we’ll finally see the truth of Amphoreus’ cyclical nature and explore the roles of Lygus and Cyrene. Phainon, of course, will take center stage alongside the Trailblazer.

Flashbacks centered around Phainon will bring us to Aedes Elysiae, Phainon and Cyrene’s idyllic hometown, which will be explorable as the game’s latest map.

The HSR 3.4 banners will feature Phainon as a brand-new playable character. In addition, the HSR x Fate UBW collab banner will go live on July 11, 2025, adding Saber and Archer into the mix.

HSR 3.4 events

The following events will take place during HSR 3.4:

• Origami Bird Clash – the Match-3 minigame returns and will stay around for longer as a multiplayer mode; rewards include Stellar Jades.
• Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail – the long-awaited HSR x Fate UBW collaboration is finally here with its own storyline and free 5-Star character Archer.
• Fate stay night – Fate-themed auto-chess event; rewards include Stellar Jades.
• Gift of Odyssey – log-in event with ten free limited pulls
• Planar Fissure – double rewards from Planar Ornaments challenges
• Realm of the Strange – double rewards from Relics challenges

HSR 3.4 features and additions

HSR 3.4 brings two long-awaited feature additions, namely the ability to skip dialog and the ability to rewatch old cutscenes and read previous dialogs whenever you want. The As I’ve Written book available on Amphoreus is getting updates as well, allowing players to explore more of the secrets of the planet at their own pace.

HSR 3.4 adds two Planar Ornament sets to the game:

• Arcadia of Woven Dreams (2)
• Revelry by the Sea (2)

There will also be a new ascension material for Wind characters, Charred Bud of Twilight.

Furthermore, Version 3.4 finally brings the first round of buffs for older characters, improving the kits of Kafka, Blade, Silver Wolf, and Jingliu. Players will be able to decide whether to play with their old kits or activate their new ones at any time. Blade and Jingliu will scale with Max HP in the future to allow players to build more effective teams around them. Silver Wolf is getting more control over her Weakness Implant and a much improved Ultimate, while Kafka's buffs emphasize her role as a DoT enabler.

Meanwhile, Firefly is getting her first skin — essentially a brighter version of her original outfit. SAM is getting a matching makeover. This outfit will be available via the shop.

The Battle Pass will be updated with eight brand-new 4-Star Light Cones.

The developers also confirmed that another free limited 5-Star character will be available later this year in addition to Archer, so players can look forward to more freebies.
