Metal Gear Solid Delta’s new multiplayer mode won’t have crossplay

Earlier this year, Konami announced that its upcoming remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater would be including a brand-new multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt. Now, after having revealed it wouldn't be available in the game at launch last week, the company has announced that the new game mode won’t have crossplay.
In a post on the Japanese Metal Gear X (formerly Twitter) account, publisher Konami revealed that cross-platform play would not be supported for Fox Hunt. The post didn’t clarify beyond that basic fact, simply saying it is not supported. Fans have speculated that cross-platform play may be added after launch, but at this stage there’s no indication that this is likely to happen.
Fox Hunt, as Konami describes it, is a “thrilling hide-and-seek” game mode, completely original to Metal Gear Solid Delta. The game mode has players using the game’s stealth mechanics to hide from other players, and it’s reportedly “set in the same world as the main story” of the remake.
Unfortunately it won’t be included in the game at launch. Last week, the company revealed on its website that Fox Hunt would be coming later for Metal Gear Solid Delta, with a release date tentatively set for Fall 2025.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 28, 2025.
