Nintendo Switch and NSO pricing changes announced for Canada
By Marco Wutz

Nintendo has announced that it will change the pricing of various products in Canada this summer with details to be shared on August 1, 2025. These changes will affect the prices of Nintendo Switch, OLED, and Lite consoles, physical and digital Switch games, accessories, amiibo, and Nintendo Switch Online memberships.
Although the exact numbers have not officially been revealed, Canadian NSO subscribers can already see the upcoming pricing changes when they try to renew memberships expiring after August 1: A 1-year individual NSO + Expansion Pack membership will then cost $69.99 CAD (up by $6) and the family version of the same deal will cost $109.99 (up by $10).
Whatever direction the other changes may go, they seemingly come into effect on August 1 right when they’re announced.
In the short press statement announcing that changes are inbound, Nintendo argued that they are needed “based on market conditions” — a phrase used similarly by Microsoft and Sony to justify price increases of their own products recently.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa previously kept the option to increase Switch 2 prices on the table, depending on the tariff situation in the United States. However, Switch 2 consoles, accessories, and games are explicitly excluded from the upcoming pricing changes in Canada, so anyone saving for one of the new consoles needn't worry about them for the moment.
